FOOTBALL: CHADDERTON suffered a 7-1 hammering at Curzon Ashton in the Manchester Premier Cup first round — despite taking the lead.
In-form Matthew Chadwick broke the deadlock with five minutes on the clock, but three goals in six minutes — Matthew Kay on the half-hour mark followed by Steve Settle and Kristian Dennis — put the hosts in control.
Samuel Walker extended the lead five minutes after the restart, with Chris McDonough (65, 74) and Matthew Purcell (83) completing the rout.
Brown, Egan leave Boro
JOINT manager Gary Brown and coach Francis Egan have left Vodkat North-West Counties League Division One outfit Oldham Boro.
The search is now under way for a coach to help boss Tony Mills. The club will not appoint another joint-manager. Anyone interested in the post should contact Mills on 07754 736535.
Boro are in action tonight — they entertain Salford City in the Manchester Premier Cup first round (7.45pm kick-off).
Darkwah to miss home tie
MOSSLEY host FC United of Manchester in the first round of the Manchester Premier Cup tonight (7.45pm kick-off).
Top-scorer Cameron Darkwah is cup-tied, so fellow striker Nathan Neequaye — who scored on his debut against Ossett Albion last time out — will lead the line for the Lilywhites.
