Springbank hit back after whitewash

WITH 12 points up grabs, there was plenty to play for in the Pet Au Purrs Oldham Amateur Snooker League
Teams played Tuesday and Thursday, with CBC producing a sterling display to sweep aside Springbank ‘A’ 6-0.
The latter recovered to defeat Moss Inn 4-2, and they are locked together with Little Cot ‘A’ at the top of the table. North Chadd were also in a whitewashing mood at home to Royton Band.
D Smith’s break of 34 for Deaf ‘B’ was the highlight in a hard-fought 3-3 draw against CBC.
Nick Broadbent registered a 32 break in the fourth frame for Blue Club ‘A’, who overcame their ‘B’ team 4-2.
Chance to play cuemaster Bond
PLAYERS from the Chadderton League and Oldham Amateur League are invited to enter a tournament at the Oldham Snooker Academy on Wednesday, November 9 (7.30pm).
The two finalists will play a frame each against Nigel Bond (pictured), the former British Open winner, World Championship runner-up and Sky Single Frame Shoot-out on Wednesday, November 16 at the same venue (7.30pm).
Current handicaps will be used for the tournament, which is £5 to enter. To book a place, call 07736 047955 Each competitor will receive free entry to the Nigel Bond exhibition. Tickets for the exhibition, at £5 each, are available from the Oldham Snooker Academy, Osborne Mill, Waddington Street.
Leisure hit Cons for six of the best
TARA Leisure clocked up their first 6-0 win of the Saw-Tech Shaw Snooker League season against Royton Cons ‘B’. Moss Inn, the reigning champions, achieved back-to-back 5-1 victories when they swept aside Crompton Cons.
