Walters inspires Oldham

IAN Walters averaged an impressive 88.99 for every three darts thrown as Oldham recorded back-to-back wins in the Lancashire GMC Super Eights Elite League. He recorded a 4-1 victory in a 7-3 defeat of hosts Lune Valley.
Lead-off man Lee Holden put Oldham ahead with a 4-3 win (70.00 ave), and further successes from Dave Yates (4-1, 85.28), John Downs (4-3, 85.12), Dave Rawstron (4-3, 87.55) and Walters helped their side to a 5-1 advantage.
The visitors lost game seven, but 4-0 victories from John Moreton (79.15) and Stuart Holden (81.07) sealed the win. Yates and Moreton each registered a maximum 180.
Next up Stockport visit Crompton Conservative Club on Sunday week (12.30pm).
OLDHAM will be represented at the Yorkshire Darts Classic at the Grosvenor Casino, Huddersfield, on Sunday (11am start).
