SNOOKER:
ROYTON Band and Little Cot ‘A’ pulled off perfect results in the Pet Au Purrs Oldham Amateur Snooker League.
Facing a tough fixture away at Springbank ‘B’, Royton produced a dazzling display to whitewash the hosts 6-0 on the green baize. And they also won 3-1 at cards to make it a great night.
But Little Cot ‘A’ fared even better, bouncing back from their first defeat of the season last week to win 6-0 (snooker), 4-0 (cards) at Oldham Rugby. Their win at snooker put them three points clear of nearest rivals Chadderton Reform.
TARA Leisure have moved to the top of the Saw-Tech Shaw Snooker League table following a 4-2 victory over Crompton Conservative Club. But reigning champions Moss Inn are a single point behind with a game in hand after winning by the same score at Comrades ‘A’.
LEADERS Yorkshire Ward 2 were beaten 4-2 by the same club’s No. 1 side, but still top the Saddleworth Snooker League table. P Barton, who defeated the in-form R Kershaw, and A Barton were particularly impressive for Yorkshire Ward 1. Mossley 1 whitewashed reigning champions Dobcross to move off the bottom.
