LEADERS Coppice United ‘A’ edged an entertaining encounter with Red Star 3-2 in the D & J Builders (North-West) Ltd Oldham Sunday League.
Medhi Ali’s brace was complemented by a Waqas Younis strike, with Mark Buckley and Ryan Hobin replying for the visitors.
Rifle Range Royle Blues enjoyed a 5-2 triumph over Fitton Hill.
High Crompton CC couldn't raise a team and their top-flight clash against Limeside King George was postponed.
HISTORY
It is the first time in the club’s 17-year history that they have had to postpone a fixture for this reason.
Disappointed manager Stuart Lomas said: "I have got to be fair and say that everyone's reason for not being able to play was a reasonable one.
"It is a first not only for the club but for me as well having been involved with amateur football for the past 38 years.
"I only hope that it doesn't happen again."
In David Giblin Division One, Puckersley beat Highfield 3-1 (see John Gilder’s Match of the Day).
