Lilywhites let it slip

NON-LEAGUE FOOTBALL: MOSSLEY squandered a two-goal lead and had to settle for a 2-2 draw at Radcliffe Borough after conceding twice in the final five minutes of their Evo-Stik League Division One North clash.

The Lilywhites went in front just before the hour mark when striker Osebi Abadaki, making his first start for the club, poked home after his first attempt was blocked by goalkeeper Nick Culkin.

And Gareth McClelland’s side were seemingly cruising to victory when, with 10 minutes remaining, Abadaki fired home after exploiting space in the hosts' defence.

However, the nerves were jangling when substitute Griff Jones netted for Borough after 85 minutes.

Mossley skipper Peter Band was then dismissed for dissent and, to compound the away outfit’s misery, Reece Kelly curled home a late equaliser.

CHADDERTON were also denied victory at the death as they drew 1-1 at AFC Darwen in the Vodkat North-West Counties League Division One.
Mohammed Hussain struck for the visitors after 49 minutes and Paul Buckley’s men looked on course for three points. But a Ryan Steele penalty in the last minute secured a draw for the hosts.

CHRIS Ogunyode’s hat-trick went some way to condemning Oldham Boro to a 5-2 home defeat at the hands of neighbours Rochdale Town.
Lee Knowles put Boro ahead with 25 minutes on the clock, but Ogunyode levelled matters five minutes later.

Nick Hodson’s penalty on the stroke of half-time saw the visitors go into the break 2-1 up, only for Brendon Parker-Stone to equalise for the home team four minutes after the restart.

But Town found another gear and goals from Ogunyode (71 and 84) sandwiched a Matt Wilkinson effort.
