Father and son scoop honours

GOLF:

OLDHAM Golf Club hosted two four-ball, better-ball Stableford events. The first was won by Tony Boyle and Clive Newton who, after scoring 43 points, won on a card play-off against Mark Hayes and Stuart Hanson, and Stuart Wagstaffe and Bob Barrington.

The following day saw father and son Shaun and Josh Dixon lead the way on 47 points.

Runners-up Paul Pattinson and Alex Simmons had 44 to their name, followed by Steve Mills and Lee Blaney (41).
