JAMES Curley rescued a point for Oldham Boro on his second debut for the club, as they drew 2-2 with Northwich Villa in the Vodkat North-West Counties League Division One.
Curley, who rejoined Boro after two seasons at rivals Chadderton, put the hosts in front with 22 minutes on the clock.
Will Buckley whipped in a superb cross and Curley side-footed home from close range.
Ben Cousins levelled matters for the away outfit early in the second period, and he netted again for Villa with 20 minutes remaining.
Just as it looked as if the match was slipping away from the home team, Curley pounced to restore parity in the dying seconds.
A long ball from the back bamboozled the Villa backline, and hesitancy on their part allowed the striker to nip in and ensure a share of the spoils.
CHADDERTON edged out Holker Old Boys 1-0 in the NWCL Division One. Adam Edwards’ 12th minute strike proved to be the difference between the two sides. Nick Chadwick flicked on and Edwards drew the goalkeeper before placing the ball into the corner of the net.
Chadderton boss Paul Buckley said: “It was a great game and the second half was end-to-end stuff.
“We are very pleased to come away with three points and it is onwards and upwards from here.”
MOSSLEY’S game at Prescot Cables in the Evo-Stik League Division One North was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
