BASKETBALL:
OLDHAM Titans went down to a 107-89 defeat at Bradford Maroons in the Division Four Men’s Conference North.
Mark Hamilton’s side got off to a bright start and led by eight points early on, but the hosts replied with a number of baskets and led 26-18 by the end of the first quarter.
A closer quarter followed, with both sides competing well and scores flying in on a regular basis.
Bradford enjoyed a 50-44 advantage by the end of this one. Halfway through the third quarter Zac Allen notched a basket for Oldham and James Harvey mustered two to level the contest at 50-50.
But the visitors struggled to maintain parity under intense pressure from their opponents, who raised their game in front of their supporters and ended the quarter 74-70 on top.
One last push saw Titans once again make it all-square before slipping behind again, and the match ended in defeat.
