Lilywhites unable to find way through

NON-LEAGUE FOOTBALL:
MOSSLEY were held to a 0-0 draw by Clitheroe at Seel Park in the Evo-Stik League Division One North.
The Lilywhites enjoyed the lion’s share of possession, but couldn’t make the breakthrough and had to settle for a point.
New signing Tom Denton impressed up front and was manager Gareth McClelland’s pick for man of the match. He said: “Tom brings something different to the table, because he is 6ft 7in tall and is a
constant threat. He is useful for set pieces at both ends of the pitch.”
McClelland felt his side deserved three points, but he is happy with the way they are playing after a slow start to the season.
He added: “We played well and it was one-way traffic in our favour in the second half.
“But at the start of the campaign we were being heavily beaten so there has been a big improvement.
“I brought in an entirely new team and that process always takes between 12 and 18 months to fully kick in. Hopefully in the second half of the season we will continue to get better and climb from mid-table.”
OLDHAM Boro’s match at home to Formby and Chadderton’s game at Leek CSOB, in the Vodat North-West Counties League Division One, were postponed because of waterlogged pitches.
