OLDHAM signed off 2011 with a resounding 8-2 win over Bury in the Lancashire GMC Super Eights Elite League.
The star of the show was Gary Jackson, who averaged 89.69 for every three darts thrown in a 4-2 victory at Crompton Conservative Club.
Peter Connelly got the ball rolling for Oldham with a 4-2 (82.77 ave) success, before John Downs (4-0, 76.43), Jackson, Ian Walters (4-2, 85.16), John Moreton (4-0, 78.22) and Sam Salt (4-3, 76.37) helped forge an unassailable 6-0 lead against the local rivals.
Bury clinched the next two games, but the damage was done, leaving Dave Rawstron (4-2, 78.75) and Stuart Holden (4-1, 79.73) to cap an excellent afternoon’s work for the men’s town team.
Oldham's next fixture is at home to Southport on Sunday, January 15.
