BOWLS:
WATERLOO and Taunton have a 15-points lead over Springbank following their 6.5-4.5 win against their closest rivals in the ‘A’ Division of the Inbev Winter Bowling League at Chadderton Cot.
The two evenly-matched teams finished their fixture level on 145 points, but Waterloo had five winners to their rivals’ three.
Paul Heap, with a 21-10 victory over Michael Clough, earned Springbank a share of the aggregate.
Nimble Nook defeated stuttering Hopwood 8-3 to pull further clear of bottom club Cot, who lost 8-3 to Springhead.
And there is no stopping New Street in the ‘B’ Division. The champions-elect remain unbeaten after a 9-2 defeat of Prestwich. Dogwood had a welcome 9-2 victory over Wanderers, while Failsworth slammed Stalybridge 10-1.
