Gap closes at top

SNOOKER:
YORKSHIRE Ward 1 beat their No. 2 team 5-1 to close the gap at the top of the Saddleworth Snooker League to five points.
Mossley 2, with convincing wins from J Key and J Morris, whitewashed Dobcross to condemn them to the bottom spot.
ROYTON Cons ‘A’ have moved into joint third place in the Saw-Tech Shaw Snooker League after a fine 5-1 win at Cartshaft.
But Tara Leisure remain top of the league following a 4-2 win at bottom club Crompton Cons, with Moss Inn right on their tail.
LITTLE Cot ‘A’ won 4-2 at Springbank ‘B’ to extended their unbeaten run in the Pet Au Purrs Oldham Amateur Snooker League to nine matches.
In doing so, they also stretched their lead at the top of the table to eight points.
