NETBALL:
OLDHAM went down to a 48-39 loss at the hands of Chester in the Northern League.
Defeat did not seem to be on the cards early on when Oldham took a 12-9 lead thanks in no small part to some fine shooting from Harriet Gill.
But it was always going to be an uphill struggle, with Chester boasting two talented Superleague players in their ranks.
A determined display from Oldham included excellent defence work, but errors crept in and Chester capitalised.
Despite the outcome, captain Suzy Chapman was positive afterwards and said: “We are ready to focus and come back stronger for the next game.”
