NON-LEAGUE FOOTBALL:
MOSSLEY boss Steve Halford has dubbed tomorrow’s Evo-Stik League Division One North trip to Clitheroe a “six-pointer”.
The Lilywhites’ opponents occupy 16th position in the table — one place and a single point better off than Mossley.
Halford’s side have earned praise for reaching the semi-finals of the Manchester FA Premier Cup — they have been handed a trip to Salford City on February 14 — but the manager wants his side to climb the league table.
He said: “This weekend’s game is a six-pointer in our minds. We want to move away from the wrong end of the table and as far as I am concerned tomorrow is a must-win game.
“I have been very impressed with the attitude of the lads since taking the job a couple of weeks ago and now is the time for them to help us kick on.”
MID-TABLE Oldham Boro entertain one-from-bottom Nelson tomorrow in the Vodkat North-West Counties League.
But they will have to cope without full-back Lee Deakin and midfield man Nick Murphy.
Deakin has other commitments, while Murphy is out for a month with knee ligament damage.
CHADDERTON, currently in eighth place in the NWCL Division One, travel to 12th-placed Cheadle Town.
Fans intending to go to the match should note that it starts at 2pm.
