NON-LEAGUE FOTBALL:

CHADDERTON came from behind to clinch a 2-1 triumph at Cheadle Town in the Vodkat North-West Counties League Division One.

Josh Taylor put the hosts ahead after 10 minutes when Paul Socha was caught trying to dribble the ball out of his own penalty area.

But Danny Shaw restored parity with half-an-hour gone, beating two would-be tacklers before letting fly from the edge of the box.

And five minutes later Socha redeemed himself by cutting in from the flank and curling the ball home.

The away side were in control in the second period and could have gone further ahead, had Shaw’s close-range effort not hit a post.

Chadderton manager Paul Buckley said: “It was a good performance and we deserved the there points. We could have scored more goals.

“I was happy with the football we played and to get the result.”

OLDHAM Boro’s home clash with Nelson in the NWCL Division One was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

MOSSLEY hit back to earn a 1-1 draw at Clitheroe in the Evo-Stik League Division One North.

The hosts were gifted the lead after 18 minutes when defender Keil O’Brien nodded into his own net following a cross from Ross Dent.

Steve Halford’s side responded positively, with Nathan Neequaye, Ben Richardson and Tom Denton all going close.

With the wind at their backs in the second period the Lilywhites piled forward in search of an equaliser, Neequaye and Richardson again squandering decent opportunities.

But the leveller came just short of the hour mark. Denton flicked the ball on to Neequaye, who thundered the ball home from 15 yards.

The away outfit had the initiative and looked the more likely side to win the game, but their challenge for all three points was dented by Ben Fallows’ dismissal with five minutes left, a second yellow card for a foul following his earlier first for a shirt pull.
