NETBALL: OLDHAM were made to sweat before eventually edging out Hucclecote 52-46 in the Netball Premier League One.

The hosts went into the second quarter 13-9 down, at which point Maria McAndrew replaced Dani Bloomfield at centre.

Still 24-20 behind, Oldham made more changes at the interval. Emma Dovey and Sarah Carter replaced Kerry Almond and Georgie Webster in defence, while McAndrew came in for Rachel Henry at wing attack.

Laura Malcolm appeared at centre and Thunder captain Karen Greig made her first appearance since suffering a serious knee injury.

The home side finally moved up a gear and entered the final quarter all-square at 35-35.

Hucclecote faded and Oldham clinched victory.

OLDHAM under-14s swept aside Didsbury 64-26 at Parrs Wood High School in the regional round of the Nationals.
Leading 17-5 at the end of the first quarter, Oldham were comfortably clear at 37-7 as they reached the half-way mark. Didsbury scored three times but Oldham hit back and went into the final quarter 52-16 up. And they never looked in danger on their way to sealing a comfortable win.
