RUGBY:
FITTON Hill Bulldogs will play their first Standard Cup match for more than a decade on Saturday.
The North-West Counties League side go to Oldham St Anne’s in the first round of this year’s competition (2pm kick-off).
The game is taking place in memory of Alex Carter, a former Bulldogs player who died in January, 2011, at the age of 17.
On the same afternoon, holders Saddleworth Rangers make the trip to Hollinwood (1.30pm).
Waterhead, who enjoyed a successful interim league season in preparation for the new summer campaign, are in action on Sunday.
They have a home clash against Rochdale Cobras (2pm).
