Failsworth make New Street wait for title glory

BOWLS: FAILSWORTH inflicted the first defeat of the season on runaway Inbev Winter Bowls League ‘B’ Division leaders New Street.
They won 7-4, but New Street are still well clear at the top and destined to clinch the title with games to spare.
Elsewhere in the ‘B’ Division. there were wins for Vixens and Stalybridge.
And action in the ‘A’ Division saw leaders Waterloo and Taunton beat Hopwood 9-2, second-placed Springbank overcome hosts Chadderton Cot 8-3 and Nimble Nook defeat Springhead Rovers 6.5-4.5
