TABLE TENNIS: WITH leaders Glodwick ‘A’ registering another 10-0 win, this time at Rosehill, the second and third placed teams went head to head in Division One of the Oldham Table Tennis League.
And it was Saddleworth ‘A’, the visitors, who came out on top 7-3 against Werneth ‘A’ to surge 12 points clear of their rivals.
Darren Lindley (three) Ian McLean (two) and Duncan Hadfield (two) starred for Saddleworth, with Darryl Meredith (two) replying for Werneth.
At the other end of the table, Honeywell ‘B’ eased their relegation fears with an emphatic 9-1 win at basement boys Hollinwood ‘C’.
Lukasz Maciejewski and Kenny Hayes notched trebles and Peter Fowler pocketed a double.
