OLDHAM moved a step closer to Premier League Division One title glory with a 62-34 win at Oaksway.
Giant shooter Emma Lower was the North-East outfit’s biggest threat early on but the visitors took a narrow 12-10 lead into the second quarter.
England international Emma Dovey entered the fray to protect the feed into the circle for Oldham, and Karen Greig combined well with team-mate Kathryn Turner as they progressed to a 29-18 lead at half-time.
Oldham piled on the pressure and took the third quarter 16-8. Greig returned at goal attack for the final quarter and worked in tandem with Dovey and wing attack Rachel Henry.
Oldham stormed the quarter 17-8 to seal the win and maintain a 14-point lead over Academy of Essex, although the Southerners have a game in hand.
Next up are Thoroughbreds at Hathershaw Sports Centre on Sunday (11am).
