Rangers, Waterhead given byes into semis

RUGBY:
SADDLEWORTH Rangers and Waterhead have both graduated to the semi-finals of the Standard Cup — without either club playing a game.
In what is becoming a far-too familiar scenario for the Oldham Amateur League's premier
competition, Rangers have been officially awarded a default 18-0 victory after home side Folly Lane failed to raise a team for their last-eight tie.
And Rochdale Cobras were similarly unable to fulfil their fixture at Waterhead Park, meaning they too exited by way of an 18-0 loss.
The draw for the semi-finals pits Saddleworth against Waterhead.
Oldham St Anne's are at home against the winners of the Higginshaw-versus-Rochdale Mayfield tie.
The dates for those matches have yet to be confirmed.
