OLDHAM Titans edged out visitors Merseyside Tigers 77-70 in Division Four of the Men’s North Conference.
Robert Mubiru top scored with 21 points for the home outfit, while skipper Luke Marston popped up with a fine three-point shot at the death.
Titans under-18s pipped Barrow Thorns 68-65 in North-West Conference. James Harvey led the way with 20 points. The game was all-square until the dying seconds, when Elliot Buckley scored a basket and a free throw.
In the Greater Manchester Central Venue League, Titans under-16s swept aside Bury 50-0, with Matthew Neary and Adam Morris scoring 12 points each.
But what followed was a 32-31 defeat at the hands of Trafford, despite 10 points from Adam Morris.
Trafford led throughout the game, although the Oldham side gave their opponents a few jitters at the end by staying in touch.
