RUGBY:
OLDHAM St Anne's will try for a third time tomorrow to finally play their Carnegie Challenge Cup preliminary round tie against Bentley Good Companions.
The prospects for tomorrow (2pm kick-off) are much brighter than in the previous two weeks, when frozen pitches played havoc with the fixtures programme.
On Sunday Waterhead will travel to the University of Hull (2pm) where they, too, will be aiming to progress to the first round proper of the prestigious competition.
Higginshaw go to Spring View in North-West Counties League Division Two tomorrow, when Hollinwood entertain St Helens Wild Boars in Division Three and Fitton Hill host Woolston Rovers ‘A’ in Division Four. All three matches kick-off at 2.30pm.
