MARTIN Beaty and Jack Bottomley-Clift, of Crompton and Royton, teamed up to win the latest Manchester Alliance pro-am event of the winter season.
Club professional Beaty and 17-year-old Bottomley-Clift bagged the Glenmuir Trophy at Leyland.
They returned 44 points in the better-ball Stableford format to emerge victorious.
In only his second outing of the Alliance campaign which runs from October through to April, Beaty (31) also claimed the runner-up prize in the individual competition.
He carded a five-under-par 65, finishing two shots adrift of ex-European Tour player Phil Archer (Birchwood GC).
The duo were today hoping to follow up in a four-man team event at Bolton Old Links. They were playing alongside Jordan Flint and Steve Moores.
Meanwhile, Bottomley-Clift, one of a clutch of talented young golfers in Oldham, will represent Lancashire in 2012 after being selected for the county’s under-17s team.
