Third quarter shocker
Date published: 22 February 2012
NETBALL:
OLDHAM paid the penalty for a poor display in the third quarter as they slipped to a disappointing 61-58 defeat at home to Setonians in the Northern League.
Some precise shooting from Alice Travis and Alexa Collier saw the hosts end the first quarter 16-12 to the good against the Newcastle outfit.
And Oldham carried on where they left off in the second quarter.
They penetrated the Setonians defence time and again and, holding a 33-26 advantage, looked set for victory.
However, changes in the third quarter upset the balance of the team and they found themselves 45-43 adrift.
Oldham came back strong in the last quarter but were unable to get their noses in front.
