HONEYWELL ‘D’ clinched the Oldham Table Tennis League Division Three crown in style with a 9-1 win over over Hollinwood ‘E’.
Paul Hutchinson’s single was overshadowed by trebles from Rob and Paul Carter.
Saddleworth are still second after sweeping aside Grotton ‘B’ by an identical scoreline. Gary Owen and Gary Crossley claimed maximums.
However, Deaf Club ‘A’ are two points behind Saddleworth after a 10-0 demolition of Coldhurst ‘C’. Dave Varney, Liaqat Ali and Ian Cockcroft bagged hat-tricks.
St Saviours are celebrating Division Five title success after a 9-1 win over Our Lady’s ‘B’.
Jacob Reilly suffered the only defeat on the night for Saints — only his fourth loss of the season — at the hands of a superb Lewis Toal.
Promotion hopefuls Deaf Club ‘C’ were beaten 7-3 by Uppermill ‘C’, for whom Jim Bradbury and Ali Mirza gained maximums.
In Division Two, Hollinwood ‘D’ maintained their fine recent form with an 8-2 win over Werneth ‘C’.
Joe Redikin was the player of the match after claiming his first maximum of the season.
He was supported by Peadar Mckinstry (three) and Steve Hathaway (two).
