NON-LEAGUE FOOTBALL:

OLDHAM Boro enjoyed a 2-1 victory over Irlam in Vodkat North-West Counties League Division One.

Gary Prescott gave Irlam a 24th-minute lead, but Sam Freaks, on debut, restored parity for Tony Mills’ men before the break.

Lee Knowles notched the winner for Boro close to the hour mark.

A LAST minute equaliser for Holker Old Boys denied Chadderton a hard-earned away win in NWCL Division One, as the contest ended 1-1.

David Glynn struck for the visitors early in the second half, but Kevin Watkin netted for Holker in the dying seconds.

MOSSLEY conceded a late equaliser in a 1-1 draw at Trafford in the Evo-Stik League Division One North.

The Lilywhites went into the game without injured Nathan Neequaye and banned duo Keil O’Brien and Cavell Coo. In came Dave Young, Steve Yarwood and Danny Hudson.

Tom Denton had a goal ruled out for offside early on for Mossley, before player-manager Steve Halford put the visitors in front after half-an-hour.

Mark Haslam whipped in a free-kick from the left and Halford climbed to nod home.

Trafford improved after the interval and Mossley goalkeeper Martin Pearson pulled off several good saves.

But just as the storm seemed to have passed, an obvious Lee Rick foul earned a penalty for the hosts. Pearson saved Andy Smart’s spot-kick only for substitute Kamahl Whight to knock in the rebound with six minutes remaining.
