ANGLING: STEVE Hodges, fishing pellet at seven metres, won the latest Chadderton Mill AC winter league match.

His draw on unfancied peg three threw up a four-fish haul which weighed 37lb. Mick Tighe fished maggot up and down in the water to catch an all-ide net of 22lb. Third-placed Phil Hulme had four carp and some ide for a net of 7lb, while Darren Webb (Medlock Bridge) snared himself a carp and ide for 16lb 10oz and fourth position.

SATURDAY’S Todmorden AS open match fished on the Akzo and lorry park lengths of the Rochdale Canal saw Tony Price (Tri-Cast Rochdale) come out on top.
His long walk to the Akzo length proved worthwhile as he grabbed himself 4lb 11oz of roach and skimmers that fell to bread punch and caster.

Second was Martin Taylor (Trabrucco Halifax) with his 3lb 14oz of small fish caught on squatt and caster beating third-placed Mick Hargreaves (3lb 10oz of silvers).

Ken Power (Tri-Cast) took fourth with 2lb 8oz, ahead of Dave Bradley (2lb 3oz).
