NON-LEAGUE FOOTBALL:
MOSSLEY claimed a hard-earned 3-2 win at Prescot Cables in Evo-Stik League Division One North.
A lacklustre first half saw both sides fail to register a shot on target, but the hosts went in front shortly after the restart when Steven Tames headed home.
With 64 minutes on the clock Kayde Coppin’s delivery was handled inside the penalty area and Tom Denton slotted home the resultant spot-kick for Mossley.
Six minutes later the visitors were in front, Lee Rick firing in from 15 yards after good work from Coppin and Denton.
Michael Grogan restored parity for Prescot almost immediately with a close-range finish, but with seven minutes remaining Steven Yarwood curled in the winner — his first goal for the club.
OLDHAM Boro boss Tony Mills was left to rue the last-gasp goal which
condemned his side to a 2-1 loss at Daisy Hill in Vodkat North-West Counties League Division One.scramble
Will Buckley headed the away outfit in front after 14 minutes, but a scramble in the box early in the second period allowed Daniel Gregory to equalise for Daisy Hill.
The game looked destined to end all-square until Francis Zajac blasted in a free-kick in the fourth minute of added time.
Mills said: “I was absolutely gutted, as were the players, because there wasn’t even time to launch one more attack after their goal. It was the last action of the match.
“It was a bit harsh on us but we paid the price for missing so many chances in the first half when we were on top. We did not play as well after the break.”
CHADDERTON went down to a 3-2 home defeat at the hands of Formby in NWCL Division One.
Ben Fletcher opened the scoring for the hosts after eight minutes, but his strike was cancelled out by Joseph Walker's leveller almost immediately.
Mark Kirby (19) and Sean Chart (89) put the away team in command before Sean Nolan’s last-minute consolation.
