Ellis off to flying start

GARY Ellis kicked off the new crown green bowling season as he ended the last by winning the Lostock Hall Conservative Club Invitation 32.
Nimble Nook and Tonge star Ellis landed the top prize of £400 when he beat Bolton’s Peter Consterdine 21-17 in the final. Ellis defeated Kendal’s Ian Nicholson 21-19 in a tense last-eight clash and then overcame Jack Hargreaves (Hyde) 21-12 in the semi-finals.
