IAN McBride, of Royton Road Runners, continued his magnificent start to the road-race season with victory in the tough 14.2 mile Dentdale Run.
Following victory in the Southport Mad Dog 10k and a close second place in the Great North-West Half Marathon, this was arguably McBride’s best performance yet.
He raced clear of the rest of the field to win by more than three minutes in one hour, 19 minutes and nine seconds.
The club celebrated their 150th Club Championship race with victory in the men’s team event thanks to McBride, Stuart Carroll (fourth overall, second V40 in 1:24:47) and Chris Lowe (22nd in 1:32:47).
Meanwhile, Kirsty White (1:52:52), Debbie Shaw (1:54:08) and Rochelle Evans (1:57:44) claimed an excellent second place in the women’s section.
Shiela Waite also produced a fine run, claiming third prize in the FV45 category (1:51:56).
