RUGBY:

OLDHAM St Anne’s coach Chris Deakin will welcome back three key players when they entertain Castleford Panthers in National Conference League Division One tomorrow (2pm).

Kevin McCormack has recovered from an ankle injury, while Dave Harris and Danny Kay are free from work commitments.

However, on the down side, Australian hooker Jordan Galloway will sit out Saints’ first home of the league game season because of injury.

Deakin said: “He did his ankle in the first quarter-of-an-hour of the Standard Cup semi-final against Rochdale Bayfield.

“It came up like a balloon and we all feared he had broken it. He was heartbroken, but it’s just badly bruised. It’s a long season, so he will probably not play tomorrow.”

BOOSTED by a narrow 22-20 defeat of Waterhead in the last four of the Standard Cup in midweek, Saddleworth Rangers welcome Hull Dockers to Greenfield tomorrow.

Prop Chris Yarwood and winger Ollie Kerr — both members of the club’s under-18s squad — could be handed starts by coach Emerson Jackman in the NCL Premier Division clash (2.30pm).

But Ben Wood (hernia) and Adam Jeffries (wedding) are absent for the visit of the East Yorkshire side.

ANDY Sands makes his first start for Waterhead tomorrow after completing a ban (2.30pm).

The former Oldham St Anne’s prop will face hosts Dewsbury Celtic who, like Waterhead, won their opening match of the season in NCL Division Two.
