RUGBY UNION:
OLDHAM firsts produced a superb comeback show to earn a 27-17 win at Tarleton in North Lancashire Division One.
The hosts broke the deadlock after 10 minutes when full-back Jack Kelly broke and fed winger Matthew Forrest, who scored in the corner. Captain Ben Kelly missed the conversion.
And Tarleton extended their lead soon afterwards, outside centre Matthew Shorrock going over on the right. Kelly was unable to convert.
Oldham narrowed the gap to 10-8 just before the interval. Phil Graham found Barber from the scrum, and after an exchange of passes with Ross Cooper he touched down on the left. Brown missed the kick.
Half-way through the second period Oldham made sure of the points when Jamie Clarke burst through to score down the left channel after Barber’s pinpoint kick. Brown successfully kicked on this occasion.
