RUGBY:
WATERHEAD stormed back from their Standard Cup semi-final defeat to make it back-to-back wins in Division Two of the National Conference League.
The Peach Road side, edged out by Saddleworth Rangers in midweek, defied a Dewsbury Celtic recovery to record a 34-24 victory away from home.
Waterhead, who beat Askam on the opening day of the league season, flew out of the traps.
The hosts did not know what had hit them as the team coached by Paul Geener and Jon Perks built up a 24-point lead before half-time.
Frazer Coley and Darren Nixon scored in the opening seven minutes for the visitors to Crow Nest Park.
Celtic responded with a touchdown of their own, but Waterhead surged up the other end to bag three unanswered tries through Alan Williamson and Carl Sneyd.
The points continued to pile up after the interval.
