RUGBY:
FITTON Hill Bulldogs are up to third place in Division Four of the North-West Counties League.
Mick Whaley’s improving side made it three wins on the bounce at Ashton Bears ‘A’.
The Bulldogs came from behind to register an 18-16 victory thanks to a last-gasp converted try.
The visitors got off to a great start when Frazer Mottershead’s brilliant run some him open the scoring. Martyn Swaine added the goal.
Bears drew level at 12-12 before the interval , but Bulldogs continued to battle away and their efforts were rewarded when a kick through on the last tackle, caused confusion in the Bears ranks and Carl Molloy dived on the ball to make the scores all-square.
Swaine held his nerve to bag the points with a successful conversion.
