Danny’s break sparks leaders

SNOOKER: A BREAK of 53 from Danny Balacerzak gave leaders Little Cot ‘A’ a fine start at Three Cs ‘B’ in the Pet Au Purrs Oldham Amateur Snooker League.
Runs of 30 and 31 from Martin Kennedy weren’t enough to win his frame against Dave Goodinson and, going into the final frame, the outcome was in the balance.
Fortunately for Cot, Dave Newton held his nerve to win it and clinch a 4-2 victory.
Breaks of 40 by Colin Hopkinson and 40 from Alan Hopkinson jnr for Royton Band gave frame victories, but opponents Blue Club ‘A’ still did enough to win 4-2.
A first-frame break of 40 from A Hussain helped Three Cs ‘A’ to a 4-2 victory at High Crompton.
And Graham Wilson’s break of 35 in frame three was enough to get him over the line for CBC against Chadderton Reform, the two sides sharing the spoils, 3-3.
