That’s a wrap

BASKETBALL:
SPIRITS were high in the Oldham Titans camp for the visit to champions Rossendale Raptors in North Conference Division Four. But the final match of the season ended in disappointment as they slipped to a 116-66 defeat.
A positive run of results had lifted Titans off the bottom of the table, but coach Mark Hamilton knew they were in for a tough examination against a side featuring ex-British Basketball League player Steven Gayle.
Titans managed only three points in the opening eight minutes, while Raptors piled up the baskets.
Titans hit back and improved for the remainder of the match, but they had given themselves too much to do. The top scorer for Titans was Robert Mubiru and James Harvey with a dozen points apiece.
