Buckley’s top-six ambition

NON-LEAGUE FOOTBALL: CHADDERTON boss Paul Buckley has set his sights on a top-six finish in Vodkat North-West Counties League Division One.
His side occupy eighth position in the table, two points behind tomorrow’s opponents Eccleshall, having played a game more.
Should Chadderton win and overturn sixth-place Irlam’s goal difference, they will leapfrog two positions.
Buckley said: “We will have to field a few youngsters, because a lot of the senior lads are working this weekend, but the youth players have served us well anyway this season.
“I always say at the start of every campaign that a top-10 finish is good, so to make it into the top six would be fantastic.
“If we can knock in a few goals we will climb the table and see how it goes from there.
“The fact ourselves and Eccleshall are next to each other in the table adds a bit of spice to the occasion.”
MID-TABLE Oldham Boro travel to one-from-bottom Nelson in NWCL Division One tomorrow.
Tony Mills’ side can expect fierce resistance from the strugglers, who are just two points ahead of basement boys Leek CSOB.
MOSSLEY do not play this weekend, but resume Evo-Stik League Division One North duties on Tuesday, when they entertain Lancaster City.
