FOOTBALL:
STRIKER James Curley helped himself to a hat-trick as Oldham Boro roared to a 5-0 win at Nelson in Vodkat North-West Counties League Division One.
A 20th-minute piledriver with his left foot was followed by a curler with his right shortly before the break.
And he completed the treble after an hour, slotting home a penalty after being felled in the box.
Curley’s nephew Ryan Fagan netted in the 89th minute and Tim Buxton put the icing on the cake seconds later.
Boro remain 14th in the table and boss Tony Mills said: “A win like that was long overdue.”
Andrew Kremner rescued a point for Chadderton with an 89th minute strike in the 1-1 home draw with Eccleshall in NWCL Division One.
The home team’s task was made more difficult by Keith Melvin’s dismissal after the interval for striking an opponent.
Ryan Grocott put the visitors in front five minutes into the second period, but Kremner got on the end of a long ball and turned his marker before drilling home just when time seemed to be running out.
Chadderton retain eighth position.
Mossley did not have a game in Evo-Stik League Division One North.
