RUGBY UNION: AN exciting clash in which hosts Oldham and Burnley scored four tries apiece ended 28-24 to the home outfit.
Oldham were delighted to take maximum points from their last North Lancashire Division One game at Manor Park this term.
It was a typical end-of-season showdown, with the outcome in doubt until the final whistle.
The visitors exposed Oldham’s struggle to defend line-outs near their own try-line on several occasions.
In the backs, Jordan Green came in at stand off and Josh Brown moved to the centre, where he partnered Will Mellor.
They linked well and were unlucky not to improve their side’s final points tally after a number of good moves.
The home side battled to the whistle despite seeing scrum-half Phil Graham sent to the sin-bin, and savoured the triumph to the delight of the home contingent.
The final game of the season sees Oldham travel to Bury on Saturday looking to build on this win and go out on a high.
