DARTS:
MARK McGeeney made an instant impact for Oldham in their 8-2 defeat of Lune Valley in the Lancashire GMC Super Eights Elite League.
The England international, who has recently moved to the area from the Midlands, averaged exactly 85 for every three darts thrown in a comfortable 4-1 win on his debut for the town team.
McGeeney, who is hoping to earn a Lancashire call-up after previously representing Warwickshire, sealed a fine afternoon’s work for the title-chasers.
The result lifted Oldham into second place, just two points adrift of leaders Rochdale Borough.
The top two teams, as they stand now, will meet on May 27, with Oldham enjoying home advantage.
