RUGBY:
SADDLEWORTH Rangers’ bid to climb off the bottom of the National Conference League Premier Division was dashed late on at Oulton Raiders.
The bottom two sides had to settle for a 10-10 draw, which at least made it consecutive games without defeat for Emerson Jackman’s troops.
Behind to a try from prop Sasch Brook in the eighth minute, Rangers responded with an effort from Kiel Lancashire.
The ex-Oldham St Anne’s man also nailed the conversion to hand his side a narrow 6-4 lead.
Rangers appeared to be heading for a vital two points when Lancashire went over again with 14 minutes to go.
He missed the subsequent goal attempt, and Oulton drew level thanks to replacement Craig Jones’ try and Brook’s conversion.
LEADERS of Division Two at the start of the play, Waterhead are now third in the table after they let slip an 18-6 lead at Elland, who hit back to win 30-22.
