Ian McBride, 68th place & a new Royton Road Runners club marathon record.
RUNNING:
IAN McBride, of Royton Road Runners, finished a brilliant 68th in the London Marathon.
And his superb performance on the streets of the capital bettered his own club record as he crossed the line in two hours 31 minutes and 44 seconds.
McBride’s was one of many fine runs and PBs by the club’s 13-strong party.
Stuart Carroll clocked 2:43:26 to earn 51st in the V40 category, Dave Kershaw’s recorded 2:58:29, Colin Green 3:04:15 and Anne Jones 4:58:46 on her marathon debut, despite her injury-disrupted preparation.
