NON-LEAGUE FOOTBALL:

MOSSLEY player-manager Steve Halford has declared himself happy with his side’s Evo-Stik League Division One North season.

The Lilywhites secured 14th place and won the Manchester FA Premier Cup.

Halford said: “When I took over I targeted 14th place and wanted to get to the final of a cup, so naturally I am pleased with how it panned out.

“We did throw a lot of points away. We finished 30 points off the play-offs and we probably chucked that amount away over the course of the season.

“But I am happy and the help I have had from people behind the scenes has been fantastic.

OLDHAM Boro manager Tony Mills is already making plans for next season after a campaign which saw his side hit by umpteen injuries.

He has earmarked several new faces and sorted out half-a-dozen warm-up games.

Boro signed off with a 3-2 defeat at Leek CSOB in Vodkat North-West Counties League Division One.

Mills said: “It has been a difficult season, horrendous at times. I have never known us to have so many injuries, and that is hard to come back from.

“But we are very positive about the next campaign.”

Chadderton manager Paul Buckley has praised his players after they cemented sixth place in NWCL Division One with a 3-0 win over Atherton Collieries.
