Goal bonanza keeps Heyside in the hunt

HEYSIDE’S second string will take race for second spot right to the wire after a 16-0 demolition of Mount in Reserve Division Two of the Huddersfield and District League.
Steven Partington and Chris Taylor shared eight goals, Ashley Blakeman bagged a treble, Robert Flynn got two, while Luke Hancock, Andy Goss and Leon Perry got the others.
In Division One, Delph followed up their Barlow Cup final victory with a 4-2 victory over fourth-placed Newsome.
And Uppermill hold a two-point lead over Newsome at the top of Reserve Division One after a 1-0 success against Cumberworth.
AVRO reserves are celebrating a great season in the Manchester League.
After winning the Manchester Amateur Cup — they beat North Walkden on penalties — they retained Manchester League Open Trophy with a 4-3 extra-time win over East Manchester reserves.
They missed out on the treble by two points, after finishing runners-up to their Walshaw Sports counterparts in Division Two.
