WILL the weather finally relent this weekend? Let’s hope so as the 2012 Versasteel Saddleworth and District League season attempts to get under way after three wash-outs.
Uppermill, the reigning champions, go to Droyslden tomorrow, while Bamford Fieldhouse host Friarmere.
Heyside’s new professional Gerrie Snyman gets his first taste of Saddleworth League action against a Stayley side boosted by the acquisition of paid man Kamran Hussain and overseas amateur Usman Malvi.
It’s a tough start for the Little Hey Street outfit as they head to Uppermill 24 hours later.
Moorside’s new pro and overseas amateur, Stephan Grobler and Francois Mostert, respectively, will look to impress at home to Glodwick tomorrow and at Hollinwood on Sunday.
TWO wins out of two and sitting pretty in the Drakes Huddersfield League Premiership, Delph are in fine fettle for tomorrow’s Sykes Cup first-round tie at home to Thongsbridge (1pm).
Out for a paltry 65 at Woodbank six days ago, Woodhouses captain Mike Cassidy will look for an instant reaction from his side in the Lees Brewery Lancashire County League this weekend. The Medlock Road outfit face Denton St Lawrence at home tomorrow and Dukinfield away on Sunday.
