A CAPTAIN’S of innings of 92 from Mike Cassidy and Nick Doyle’s 55 helped Woodhouses to a 27-run win over Dukinfield in Lees Brewery Lancashire County League Division One — their first win of the season.
But an excellent score of 106 from Josh Tolley was in vain 24 hours earlier, as the Medlock Road club suffered an agonising eight-run defeat against Denton St Lawrence.
DELPH swept aside Thongsbridge by 197 runs in round one of the Sykes Cup in the Drakes Huddersfield League.
Irfan Zahoor, with 90, a knock of 77 from Kevin Hook and an unbeaten 44 from Bruce Cruse steered the local outfit to an impressive 297 for seven from 50 overs, before Matt Norvall (five for 18) and Arron Lilley (four for 16) did the damage in dimissing their opponents for 100.
