MOTORCYCLE RACING:
ASHLEY Beech impressed in the third round of the Metzeler National Superstock 1000 Championship at Oulton Park and was unlucky to be thwarted by a red-flag stoppage.
The Moorside motor cycle racer (33), representing ILR Kawasaki, qualified in 20th place and lined up on the fifth row of the grid.
By the eighth lap he was in a six-man tussle for 16th position.
But Adam Jenkinson crashed heavily and the red flags brought a premature conclusion to an exciting race.
The next round is at Donington Park this weekend.
