RUGBY:
A MISERABLE weekend saw five local North-West Men’s League teams slump to defeats.
In Division Three, Higginshaw threw away a lead for the second successive match, this time losing 16-10 at home to Bamber Bridge.
DIVISION Two action saw basement boys Oldham St Anne’s ‘A’ lose 70-0 at home to Halton Farnworth Hornets. Five members of the squad had been called into the first team.
WATERHEAD were beaten 24-0 by visitors Accrington Panthers in Division Four.
It means they remain on two points, three places above bottom side Saddleworth Rangers, who lost 52-16 at home to Eccles.
FITTON Hill Bulldogs were defeated 40-26 by Portico Vine in Division Five.
